The Benefits of MRCEDM
There are currently more than 35 faculty from the three member universities with active research programs in chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bio-engineering, material science, and biology associated with MRCEDM. MRCEDM actively seeks support from federal funding agencies for joint research programs at the member universities. It meets with local industrial leaders to seek their support and guidance for industrial research performed within the consortium. MRCEDM provides local industry the ability to perform high-level research at near-by universities.
MRCEDM provides several other advantages to local high-tech industries, as well as to new companies that are considering a location in the Metroplex. Corporate members also provide guidance through the Governance Board in setting research priorities. Member companies may also engage the capabilities of the Consortium in proprietary research through individual agreements where individual institutional policies permit.
